Skyfire’s on Safari

Titles are really, really hard to dream up for these posts – the point is that a new browser Skyfire is opening up new doors for mobile web users. While the native iPhone browser, Safari, is a big improvement over past mobile browsers (just pick up someone’s Treo for a preview of how poor the experience can be), Skyfire takes it a step further (Windows Mobile and Nokia initially), opening up much more of the content available to bigger-boned computers.

While the question of how to really optimize sites for a mobile experience is a still very much open, it seems to make sense that the mobile phone should have access to just as much thin client software/content as a desktop, doesn’t it?

Perhaps one day, instead of having to buy lots of apps to workaround the mobile phone form factor, it won’t matter?
